What can you tell me about Montgomery Knolls?

We are starting there in the fall and would appreciate any insight that parents could give us about the school and its program.

Principal has led to a high staff turnover since she took over about four or five years ago, so who knows about the teachers. The students are a fairly diverse mix across races/SES. If you're on DCUM and you're zoned for MKES, I'm assuming you live in Woodmoor. The PTA is almost exclusively Woodmoor parents, and is fairly active as far as planning activities and fundraisers. The school itself has some awesome teachers (my kids loved the PE and Tech teachers, who are still there), and there are several "nights" that were pretty fun--International Night, Math Night, etc. We did NOT care for the principal at all, but overall, we were happy with our experience (youngest is in 3rd grade this year). We also liked that it was a PK-2 school--something nice about all teachers being experienced with primary grades.

Are you pp's on the Woodmoor listserve? Earlier this summer, there was a series of posts about MKES, so if you didn't catch those, try to dig them up in the archives. I also live in Woodmoor, but my kids aren't school-age yet.

I am the OP and I don't live in Woodmoor - so anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Woodmoor and we are sending our daughter to MKES. Our neighbors have been very happy with the school, so we are giving it a try. (One completed Kindergarten, and two have moved on to Pinecrest.) We already know a lot of kids going to MKES.
