If you tried DCPS/DC charters 1st, what was your tipping point to move to MD?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who, like me, can't afford a $500,000 home and who didn't want a really long commute. My understanding is that this would put us in/around Silver Spring/Takoma Park. We don't have school-aged kids yet.

What school(s) do your children attend now?

Where did they go in DC?

Did you try the DC lotteries and move because you were disappointed? If you got into a school(s) that you decided you couldn't do, what was it?

Were you initially pleased with the charter/DCPS you had gotten into? If so, what soured you on it?

How does your current school compare to charter/DCPS?

How does your current school rate on inspiring a love of learning vs. drill-and-kill-teach-to-the-test?
