best place to consign womens clothing

Where is the best place to consign a mixed bag of women's items? I would like to give it a try before donating.

What brands? Sunflowers in Kensington is a great women's consignment shop with lots of Banana/Ann Taylor/JCrew/Talbots type of price range and some higher end designer stuff. If your things are all higher end than that, check out Secondi in Dupont.

I never found anywhere that was worth the hassle for normal brands - JCrew, Ann Taylor, etc. It was always a hassle to get an appt - they wanted you to come during weekdays and then they charged a consign fee that usually ate up any money I might have made.

Mustard Seed in Bethesda will take JCrew type brands. If you make an appt and bring a bag of clothes in good condition they go through them and give you half the price they will sell the item for when you walk out the door.
