Weird cramping... etopic?

Anonymous
I am getting a bit nervous. I am having a weird pain in my left side. I just got a positive last Thursday. I have had the pain off and on for about 3 days. It feels like round ligament pain... but that doesn't happen till much later. I am going to call the doctor's office tomorrow morning and see what they say. It is a very dull pain... has anyone else experienced this... was it an etopic pregnancy or was it just normal. It also feels similar to a pain that I had and the doctor thought that it could be an ovarian cyst. Please advise! Thanks

I had so many pains that I interpreted them all - the best thing is like you said - go to your oB- very normal to have strong pulling pains- each pregnancy was different.. best wishes!

I don't know about others' experiences, but I had an ectopic and there was no dull pain. It was knife in the side, can't stand up or sit down kind of pain that sent me directly to the ER. Perhaps you are just having implantation pain? Your OB can check your HCG levels and do an US to make sure. I also had bleeding.

I went to the doc at 6 weeks for pain on one side. The weekend doc said it was probably an ectopic, but the weekday doc didn't even want to see me before the end of that week. It went away after a day or two, so I am assuming it was ligament pain. I was doing a lot of work the day it started. I didn't believe the first diagnosis because the pain was not intense. I have had two ultrasounds since and the fetus is where it is supposed to be.

Since your doctor mentioned the possibility of an ovarian cyst - I had one of those a few years ago, the pain was on one side and quite dull. But I would definitely have it checked out, better safe than sorry is my motto especially during pregnancy. Good luck and please update us.

OP here - I called the doctor's office and the nurse 'typed out' a message for the doctor. So I am just waiting to hear back at this point. It was much worse last night( and it was still pretty dull) than it is this morning... I can actually barely feel it. So I am hoping that is a good sign. Thanks everyone.

OP here - doctor said it was probably just a cyst... it doesn't sound like an etopic. Thanks all!
