It's over

Eh fat lady hasn't sung yet. Too many tea party a-holes who can screw this up still.

It chills me to think what the teapartiers want this country to look like, as evidenced by their fiscal priorities. Armed to the teeth, grabbing everything you can and stepping on anyone who grabbed slower than you.

That would be WORKING as hard as they can. You may not agree with their political ideas, but they're not the folks who're trying to grab a bunch of freebies.

It chills me to think where we would be if the teapartiers weren't here to reign in the spending.

Fortunately, the Democrats will protect us.

Just kidding, of course.

Make a list of the most conservative presidential administrations since Hoover. I put Obama in the top 5, probably higher.

Don't forget the brows pulled so low they have to kill any cultural undertakings beyond the everyday experiences of Real 'Merkans.

Interesting slip of the tongue. Don't get ahead of yourselves.

Why is it that the Republican plans always showed smaller cuts than the Dems?
Anonymous
It could have been worse. Obama resisted what must have been a strong temptation to back the BBA and throw in a tax cut. Such a backbone he has!

But I think I understand his motivation: The Republican field is not looking very strong, so he is thinking of going for the GOP nomination instead of the Dem. Can you think of a better explanation?

I dread hearing about the details. Obama does not seem to stand for anything and he is a terrible negotiator. This country has darker days ahead. The economy is going to get worse and the Republicans have the perfect 'socialist' foil to blame for the state of affairs.

I don't understand why democrats are upset. the 2013 budget is going to be bigger than 2012, 2014 bigger than 2013, and so on. The Bush tax cuts are still due to expire. Democrats know the debt is unsustainable - not because of the current $14T, but because of the projected deficits over the next 20 years.

Because the Republicans refuse to address the biggest drain of them all-- the military.

I think it is very telling that Boehner can't come out and say he supports it.
