After the budget battle (threatening to shut down the gov.) and this debt ceiling drama, I hate both parties! I am so sick of them. I will be voting the Silly Party now. |
Get ready-- there will another shutdown in October!
Oh and the FAA is already on partial shutdown, with taxes on tickets no longer being collected but you might now have noticed that because of course the airlines immediately raised their ticket prices to take the $ for themselves. |
the airlines have had a tough time. It's nice they can finally make some money. good for them. |
Airlines another industry unable to function without the government. |
Wasn't the last bailout and series of bankruptcies enough for them? |
I agree with this completely. It is not an industry that has ever made money, not really. It is hammered from all ends by fuel prices. labor woes, the recession. I don't see how we could do without it, so what's wrong with them making some money for a change? |
This sounds like someone supporting the owners of sports teams in labor disputes and stadium deals. Boo hoo. If it's impossible to make money in it, why do these corporations keep getting into the business? And if they persist in making these stupid business decisions, why should we support them? I'm mostly socialist, but this is an area in which the free market can do just fine. Why should people in urban areas pay for people to live in remote places? Why should the government promote the inefficient distribution of people and companies? |
