FCV finds its way into ECNL. Loudoun’s days coming to an end

What will FCV parents do when GAL folds and the club moves it’s practices to Annandale? GAL only exists bc DA folded and is a bandaid for DA clubs. GAL was never intended to exist after 2 years. FCV will dominate ecnl-r once GAL folds. Once players realize that FCV is bs, the top players will gravitate towards ecnl.

Do other clubs ask parents for extra “donations” to show the family’s commitment to the club in exchange for preferential playing time and a/b team placement? I thought this was a weird request and wanted to know if this is standard operating procedure or am I being fleeced?

What will Loudoun do once ECNL gets bored of their same old BS results and cheap tacky training?

You do realize GAL went from 69 clubs last year to 80 this season. That’s pretty good growth not folding. For comparison ECNL added 8 new clubs this year to reach 111.

Look at the quality of the clubs ECNL added vs a GAL. New ECNL clubs were some of the best GAL clubs. I agree the GAL will not fold, but it will lose its best players and clubs steadily in the coming years.

Agreed. New ECNL clubs are good. New ECNL-RL clubs are at least regional. I don’t think GAL will fold either, but they can’t afford to be picky about club quality or location - so in a year or two that league will look like the CCL. Too much travel for too little payback. Good luck.

I know. FCV will stay in GAL. They will win a lot of games against GAL teams but no one will care bc it’s GAL. Then they will talk up how they will win Jeff Cup only to lose to Loudoun. Rinse and repeat.

FCV and Loudoun are merging and building an indoor training facilities. They will have a GA and ECNL team which will raise money to build its own IMG like program as well. As well as. Beach house only athletes and coaches are allowed.
