I’ve never met a medium who practices with that type of showmanship. Typically, a medium simply reaches out to a deceased loved one, a spirit guide, etc. and asks for information. When you ask someone to pray for you, you are essential asking them to act as a medium between you and God (Source, Universe, Higher Power,...whatever). God is very easy for most people to communicate with because He/She is so easily able to connect with us. We don’t really have to do much at all. Angels are very easy to communicate with. Spiritual Leaders like Jesus are easy to communicate with. They easily connect with us. It’s much more difficult to communicate with a deceased loved one because both of you have to really work to meet in the middle, if that makes sense. And unless they have lived many lives, it usually takes them some time to figure it out. All mediums are psychics. But not all psychics are mediums.

You can sue (and win) any medium or psychic who tells you this and takes your money. All professional mediums and psychics tell you they are for entertainment only, because they know they can't prove their claims are true, and their claims are easily disproven or shown meaningless.

While I cannot recommend a medium, I can suggest that if you want to connect with your mom, you can be open doing this on your own. Perhaps read about people who experienced a connection with with a departed loved one while spending time alone in nature. Some feel a connection when they are in the alpha state, through deep meditation or in dreams. Others sense their loved ones' presence through scents, such as an inexplicable waft of their mother's perfume, or energy, such as lights flickering at certain times.

We are all so busy and bombarded with stimulus during our daily lives that you may need to slow down and make a concerted effort to sense your mother's presence. You may want to connect but also be afraid, and that will hold you back. The connection may come after some period of time, when you feel that it won't happen, and it may be so fleeting so as to take you by surprise.

Your mother is away but also present, almost as if she's in another country or on a flight. You can't physically see but she is there. And take comfort knowing that when it is your time to cross over, she will be there to greet you, as her own loved ones were for her.
