Does anyone have access to any press releases naming semifinalists from DC? Kid's school still hasn't made it official.

Numbers match 100% with the post last week listing semifinalists per school

Here's a link to the Fairfax County list: http://patch.com/virginia/fairfaxcity/record-number-fcps-students-named-2016-national-merit-semifinalists

So, VA kids are the dumbest?

So, fcps had 238. How many did mcps have? Can't use the good old MD has the higher cut-off score and we could have had more without the higher cut off score blah blah blah... You still think VA kids are the dumbest?

How many NMSF did Montgomery County have? Probably fewer than Fairfax.

I think mcps had at least 150 because they are so smart compared to VA kids or did they?

MD historically has 1-2 pts higher cutoff scores than VA. Just because VA "matched" MD for one year, it doesn't mean VA is as good as MD. Abnormalities do happen after all.

How many did the Blair magnet program (not the CAP and not the general ed students) have? "Crazy" number I bet.

41 same as RM magnet - slightly over 40% of the magnet kids

Not only "match" the cutoff score, one school (TJ) had more NMSF than the Blair magnet program (100), Blair CAP program (80) and Poolesville prgram (400) combined. Maybe TJ had more NMSF than the entire MCPS schools combined?

Doesn't 41 include students in Blair CAP and Blair non-magnet students?

Take out all the Asian and Jewish kids. Who has the most? Or are they equally a very small number.

Poolsville program doesn't equal the 400 Kids at the school. Three seperate programs and home school kids mixed together to get 400. Can't compare to TJ as totally different mix. Also, lower MC doesn't attend there. It would be like comparing to Loudon County.
