Mukai became principal last January. Maybe 2 weeks before the end of the semester.

He sent back more kids last year than Bonitatibus sent back in any prior year. How is that dragging his feet?

He used the 3.0 standard, how did he move goalposts? Why would he even do such a thing?

You keep bringing up the 3.0 GPA as if that is an iron clad rule, and I have been trying to tell you that it has not been consistently enforced. Mukai talks a big game, but waffles at the slightest push back. That's why he avoids meeting with teachers because he can't handle confrontation.

He doesn't seem to be waffling in his discussions with you. The standard is the standard and if someone points out that he is not applying the standard, he will course correct.

Can you provide more details?

If Mukai gave them modified benchmarks (I'm assuming they had sub 3.0 GPA and his new benchmarks would not have lifted them out of that) and they achieved those benchmarks, it seems unfair to not honor that without warning.

I haven't heard of juniors returning to their base school but I don't think it is something that people would advertise either.

I don't think freshmen can be dropped at the end of a quarter, it has to be based on actual grades which means you probably get the entire year before Mukai can send you back.

For upper classmen, end of year instead of mid year removal seems like something that is within Mukai's authority but frankly, those parents are not doing their kids any favors but then again, they should probably have pulled their kids a lot sooner.

Any kid with less than a 3.5 after their freshman year should get counseled and anyone with under a 3.0 should be sent back for their own sake.

TJ is not for the faint of heart and going to TJ almost certainly makes college admission results worse.

TJ hasn't been in region 2 for a while. It's considered nontraditional and they report to Ponce directly. The non-region schools are Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Fairfax Adult High School, Bryant High School, Mountain View High School.
