Referring to capable, honest educators with authentic academic records. Othetwise, why did they hire such a fraud? No options? |
There are plenty of qualified candidates who would love to be a superintendent in Iowa. If this school board was any good they would do a nationwide search and interview them. Generally, the top 3 are looked at more closely and many times are introduced in townhall type events so the public can ask questions. Then the board narrows it to 1. But this board did everything in secret. Hopefully the citizens of Des Moines will insist on a more transparent process. And the focus should be on merit and qualifications. Not on race or gender. |
PP here. +1 Yes! |
| Hard for me to care. We have a rapist and felon taking bribes and extorting businesses in the Oval Office who is allllllll through the Epstein Files. Apparently, nothing matters anymore. |
None of what you said is true. Troll. |
Sad that Donald Trump sets your bar for employment standards. |
I mean shouldn’t we look to our US president as a barometer of intelligence, expertise, decorum, political savvy, and general transparency and honestly?!?! You don’t see this as a priority or do you actually believe that Haitians were eating cats and dogs? Or, you don’t care that the man with our nuclear codes believes that he assassinated Saddam Hussein last year after speaking with Hegseth? Be real. Why do you care more about a superintendent, who by all measures, was apparently doing a decent job? |
PP here. I am no Trump supporter and cannot control what he does. I can only vote for his opponents. I'm a longtime educator who believes that we should hire teachers, staff, administrators, and superintendents of the highest moral caliber to lead our school districts and set an example for our impressionable students. Mr. Roberts is a lying, charming con artist. |
It’s all true. And leadership matters. We are not going to have a civil, law-abiding society with his criminal organization in charge. Leaders set the tone. |
Which is why Democrats love him & hired him. |
| Does anyone know if it was dei related. He doesn't even seem to be the best on paper. |
As a longtime educator, can you clarify whether educators—or anyone employed by a school—get any kind of background check before being hired? I always assumed they did, but perhaps I’m wrong. |
DP Another educator here. Background checks are generally limited to fingerprinting to check criminal Al convictions. Such a check would not reveal immigration status. I would hope that a background check on someone being considered for superintendent would be more thorough- references, educational background, etc. That doesn’t seem to have been the case here. Or, they overlooked the discrepancies. |
| I just don’t care about this nearly as much as i care about having a psychotic administration as our country’s leadership |
Agree that this was a super odd hire in the first place |
