Built in several weeks.

Now, you got that California High Speed Rail built after 30 years and billions in spending? WHERE IS IT??

Right, because building a tent city with cages and bunkbeds is exactly like building a high-speed rail system.

Still waiting for it. Spain built it. So did France and Japan. Paid for it and built it.

What did you democrats do??? Oh yeah, shuffle more paper and litigate it and have environmental meetings. BFD.

The point is not about whether or not something was built and how fast – – the point is that the prison we’re talking about does not look safe or suitable for human habitation. It flooded the first time there was rain. What do you think will happen when a serious storm hits? The people in there won’t just be the immigrants you despise – – there will also be prison guards whose safety and health will be at risk.

It's way nicer than the months they spent in the caravans and crossing the Rio Grande to break into the United States. It's luxury in comparison and incredibly humane. They are free to cross back over the way they came but they prefer the FEMA provided accomodations.

+1
The facility is air-conditioned and designed to withstand hurricane-force winds. It's fitted with indoor and outdoor recreation yards, and a medical facility. It's also not going to be a permanent structure, they're simply using the airfield that is *already there*.

I have to agree with DeSantis:
"It's all temporary. We set it up. We break it down. This isn't the first rodeo. This thing has been used a bunch of times over many, many years," said DeSantis, adding that his administration has invested billions of dollars in Everglade restoration.

DeSantis said that he believes some groups opposed to the project are "trying to use the Everglades as a pretext just for the fact that they oppose immigration enforcement."

You forgot to add that the unique security feature of the facility is literally the surrounding swampland filled with alligators. How do you think that looks to the rest of the world?

So then, you prefer your detention centers to be surrounded by razor sharp concertina wire, like Biden and Obama used. Interesting.

At least we knew where they were and that the people in them were still alive.

Lots of immigrant women and children being "disappeared" right now.

It is a bit rich of the liberals here to whine and complain and feign total outrage about a detention center constructed to house illegal aliens.

The Democrats in Congress - and the liberals here - didn't say a peep when Biden welcomed in millions of migrants from all over the world - many of the gang members and criminals. Not a word from any of you when there were a record number of migrant deaths under Biden. Nobody showed any concern for the tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors that were placed with "sponsors" and have since disappeared. There was no outrage when the media reported on the rape trees along the border. I don't recall any concern when terrorist after terrorist entered and was released into our country. And, we must have missed the sorrow you expressed when citizen after citizen was murdered by illegal aliens. And, this continues to happen.

Our immigration law calls for migrants who enter illegally to be detained. It isn't an option - not *might* be detained. Not *may* be detained. The law says they *shall* be detained. Right now, the Trump administration is doing what Biden should have done - detaining those who entered illegally. This detention center helps with the enforcement of our laws.

So, spare the faux outrage. If you weren't concerned during the 4 years of the Biden administration when migrants were trafficked by cartels, raped on their journey, died along the way, and then criminal migrants victimized the innocent citizens of the US, we really don't want to hear your fake concern about their welfare now. They are being treated abundantly better than the treatment they received during the Biden administration. And, our citizens are safer as a result.

Really? Spare us.

According to The NY Times at least 85k unaccompanied minors that were trafficked across our southern border have VANISHED. This is not some conspiracy theory, it’s a cold hard FACT brought to you by Biden’s open border policies.

Honest question: who cares what it's surrounded by? This is a temporary facility designed to *temporarily* house illegal immigrants before they're deported. It's a good use of existing space. I have no issue with this - where would you prefer to see them housed?

Sure "deported" to countries they aren't from and where no one can track them. Or maybe they will just die in the camp and spare Republicans the expense. This seems to be the plan.

They can always go home and stop illegally invading another country.

Perhaps you should get their home countries to take them back. But other Presidents didn't care enough to make them do it.

Good point.
Which members of congress will be heading to Alligator Alcatraz?

So ICE’s budget is now 24 billion. Roughly about the same amount that Israel or South Korea spend on defense.

I heard ICE is buying F -35s and ATACMS.

+ a million
Well said. It's really too bad the Biden administration saw fit to reverse all of Trump's border protocols on day one and allow in flood of illegal immigrants. But, since they did, the Trump administration is now having to clean up their mess and remove them from the country. Think of all the effort and expense taxpayers could have been spared had Biden simply left the Trump border EOs in place, instead of stupidly removing/cancelling them.

In light of that, and all of the other things you listed, it's pretty rich listening to these twits get hysterical that illegal immigrants are being deported.

Well, the alligator concentration camp is already flooded.

Hopefully more immigrants will self deport, and foreign tourists or legal immigrants will know well enough to stay away from the US for the next four+ years.

Republicans will have to get their cheap labor or tourist dollars from native born US citizens now.

What a bunch of smug nonsense. I bet you also rationalize slavery as “the plantations were so much more luxurious than where they were living before”. There’s no end to the glib, twisted fictions MAGA weirdos invent to justify their cruelty and dehumanizing of others.

PP ia absolutely right.
These illegal aliens were incentivized by the Biden admin. to make a treacherous journey at the hands of the cartels. Many died. Others were victimized - women and children raped. There are still tens of thousands of UAM that have not been located that the Biden admin farmed out to "sponsors" that were not vetted.
This is actually an improvement.

You’re only proving the point that MAGA will endlessly justify anything grotesque, including slavery and ethnic cleansing, as somehow being beneficial for its targets. Keep digging.

What on earth are you ranting about? Do you even hear yourself?
DP

This, for example:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/new-florida-standards-teach-black-people-benefited-slavery-taught-usef-rcna95418

I guess it would sound like “ranting” to someone with a weak grasp of history who doesn’t pay attention to the news.

Haven’t you heard? Trump is going to give farmers the immigrants he captures. These men (and women) will work on farms, unpaid.

Sound familiar?
