It's a testament to the failure of education in the US that 45% of voters still approve of this administration. Heather Cox Richardson on Hegseth:

He’s not going to be fired—He’s the ultimate Trump yes man…that is the ONLY qualification. The only way he gets fired is a defense department lapse that leads to a significant number of troop deaths. |
Not at all! Central casting would be someone resembling George C. Scott. |
Please enlighten us about Pete Hegseth's Special Forces training? Hegseth never went to Ranger school. He didn't do air assault. He didn't do Airborne. He didn't do any of the hard schools. Usually someone in infantry will do at least one. Instead, Hegseth did civil affairs, which is generally where low performing mediocrity ends up. His time in the Minnesota National Guard was completely undistinguished. |
Trump thinks Hegseth looks the part. |
| What’s the deal with his wife and lawyer being his advisors? Why isn’t this getting more attention? |
|
Kudos for Pete eliminating all DEI hires from the pentagon and putting real generals with combat experience for once.
National security is not an area where social engineering should conduct DEI experiments. |
Russian bot or middle school troll? |
We have replaced DEI with MWMO--Mediocre White Males Only. |

The latest news stories on Pretty Boy Hegseth.
*Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had a "dirty" internet line set up in the Pentagon so he could use Signal on a computer and avoid the Pentagon’s security protocols. https://apnews.com/article/hegseth-signal-chat-dirty-internet-line-6a64707f10ca553eb905e5a70e10bd9d [Why isn't this bigger news?] *Hegseth became agitated by leaks about a planned classified briefing for Elon Musk and threatened his subordinates with polygraph tests. "Pentagon officials said this week that they were no longer sure who they should be working with inside Hegseth’s team because of what one described as the ‘revolving door’ of staffers." Hegseth was valedictorian of his public HS in Minnesota and a very good athlete. That's good enough for Princeton. |
| Pete is one great defense secretary we had in decades of mediocre defense contractors' mouthpieces pretending to serve as public employees. |
Because he works for a president who had his daughter and son-in-law as senior advisors. We're numb to this sort of thing by now. |
At this rate we’re not far from that. Pete is out here exposing plans and talking way too freely on insecure channels all while being ignorant of the operations of the organization he is supposed to be leading and is instead failing. Meanwhile, we’re losing connection with our allie. peace and stability in the Middle East is becoming more precarious and the Israel/Gaza ceasefire is dead. Russian and Ukraine are still at war and any peace deal Trump folks thought they had had long since been shown to be a sham with Putin running circles around them. Oh, and so much for defending a Americans domestically since we seem to be trafficking folks to El Salvador and attempting to build a concentration camp in Gitmo. |
