This is not going to end well, and we are nearing the end.

All I see here from the left are vindictive, trolling toddlers. Nice projection.

Exactly. I hated GWB at the time but I'd take that guy back in a heartbeat now.

I didn't hate GWB. We would be lucky to have a GWB now.

We certainly would. At least he was faithful to the constitution and observed norms.

+1

And I have no doubt about his loyalty to this country. I mean, I disagreed with him on many many things, but I know in his heart, he thought he was doing the best for the US. That is workable. Love for country does not guide Trump or any of his cronies. Scary.

I agree with this. Thought I did vote for Bush, but even voting for him there were things I disagreed with him on, and what's scary to me is it doesn't seem like those who support Trump can critique him in anyway.

no they are full kool aid/ cult.
It's like al qaeda. Like blind loyalty as it leads you into death and you're still like 'I WANTED THIS'. meanwhile you could have like - sat on your sofa and watched like bridgerton.

You actually write using “like”? Now I know we’re dealing with middle schoolers.

Because a democratic president has been in office for 12 of the last 16 years, you feel entitled to a democratic candidate winning the presidency. You feel it’s not right a republican won, and instead of accepting that the candidate you support may not always win, you have concocted a sprawling conspiracy theory about russia and how America is doomed.

Democrats are really treading the same path here. They are posting topics identical to topics posted in 2016- russia, Melania isn’t moving into the WH, Barron Trump (now a college student at a highly selective business school) is autistic, Trump is going to imprison trans/glbtq/brown people in concentration camps.

It’s actually concerning. Something has happened to democrats, something very bad.

America is not doomed because a democrat didn’t win the presidency.

You think that a convicted felon/rapist who routinely insults America's citizens ( veterans, disabled people, anyone he doesn't like) deserves to be in the White House? This is not about Dem vs Republican. This is about basic decency and values.

A country founded by traitors to the British crown that enslaved people to build the country, murdered the indigenous population and has killed millions to benefit the defense industry cannot claim basic decency nor any value save for adoration of materialism.

you definitely aren't American.

His service is admirable but the highest rank he has attained is Captain in the National Guard. Has he even attended Command and General Staff College? Both my father and father-in-law did but it's generally for Majors on their way up. It's Army graduate school for future leaders.

So the military did not see any leadership potential in him? Why should we?

Why are all the MAGA on here? You win. Go celebrate. Get a hobby.

The majority of the country voted for Trump, so YES, he is the president and deserves to be in the White House. As for decency, it is clear that Democrats do not know what that is.

No, a majority of the people who bothered to vote voted for Trump. There's a difference.

By this time in 2020, Trump was still refusing to concede the election and actively spreading lies about voter fraud.

If you voted for Trump in 2024, you cannot credibility claim to value "decency."

Posts like this feel crazy to read, for real. Maybe you’re living through a decline, but you’re not the main character in an end of world movie. I do think Trump will be bad but not in the overtly dramatic ways you’re envisioning. He will gum up federal agencies and tap poor choices to lead them. He will make shitty policies that spend forever in court. Poor people are going to pay more in taxes. I don’t like the guy either but damn, we’ve lived through a Trump presidency and a Biden one. Trump didn’t set up concentration camps for trans people, he didn’t establish a dictatorship, he didn’t suspend the rule of law. Similarly, Biden didn’t fckn save the world like you all seem to think democrats would’ve this time around.

He was a MAJOR. In the GUARD. His military career is totally average. The CJCS has higher ranking people driving him to them airport.

Now take a look at the list that was just posted and let us know your scathing opinion of the previous Sec Defs who never even served, much less were ranked majors.
DP

Christ, internet communication is hard.

It’s not about having command experience. It’s about credibility. He was a major three years ago and has no other experience to qualify him for the job. His personal life decisions would get him passed over for group command. And you think the joint chiefs are going to take him seriously???? Good luck.

When proven wrong, double down on moving those goalposts! First, you whine that he was chosen for his “jawline.” Then another PP lists his accomplishments. Then you insist he wasn’t high-ranking enough. Then you’re shown a list of previous Sec Defs from Dem administrations who had far less military experience than him - or none at all.

It’s truly comical watching you tie yourself in knots in an effort to be right when you’ve clearly been proven wrong.

I’m the one who posted about his jawline. I didn’t make the post you quoted. Do you not get that more than one person can post in the thread?

And you haven’t proven anything wrong. The fact remains that Trump’s guy has no senior command experience. But he sure looks good on TV!

Another genius who doesn’t know when to use “DP”? God, you people are not bright.

Name one person on this list with “senior command experience.”

Ashton B. Carter
Barack Obama Administration: ZERO military experience

Chuck Hagel
Barack Obama Administration: fought in Vietnam as enlisted, left as Sergeant (which I believe is lower than Major?)

Leon E. Panetta
Barack Obama Administration: ZERO military experience, unless you count two years as a young Army intel officer

Robert M. Gates
George W. Bush / Barack Obama Administration: left Air Force as 2nd Lieutenant (lower than Major, correct?)

William S. Cohen
William Clinton Administration: ZERO military experience

Leslie Aspin
William Clinton Administration: ZERO military experience

DP. The men you listed above had experience running large organizations. Trump’s tool is a newscaster who read teleprompters. The fact that you can identify why he is different tells me you’re dumb and you lack any real world job experience.

This is the problem with a major political party adopting the language and behavior of internet trolls as its primary form of communication and main political tactic.

Is that approach funny and fun? I am sure from your perspective, it is. It can feel very powerful to make other people freak out. And it's so easy because you always have the out of "it's a joke" or to point to people like OP and say "look how insane this all is." Even though what OP is doing is taking you at your word. But you don't mean it. Except when you do. But mostly you don't. No one can know until later when you've figured out how much you can get away with.

So you'll try to overthrow the certification of a presidential election by storming the capital building in an angry mob, but also it was really just a protest and it was funny and no one meant any harm and [eyeroll] why are the libs being so dramatic about this.

But yeah that election was stolen, actually. But no this one where we won and not 2016 where we won and "Russia Russia Russia" was a hoax but also Hilary's emails were treason and Hunter Biden deserves the death penalty. I kid, I kid. No but really.

Anyway stop freaking out liberals, Trump isn't literally Hitler, he's just a regular Republican president. Except he's not going to do the normal stuff other Republican presidents do because that's lame and he's a force for change. But he's not a dictator. Except on Day One. And maybe other days but only if you test him. Kidding, kidding! Wow you guys have no sense of humor. It's not like Trump is just going to lock up his political opponents and use the presidency to punish anyone who spoke out against him or worked for his opponents or donated money to them. Except he might and also those people deserve it because they are traitors. But geez, turn down the rhetoric. You're sooooo dramatic. Trump isn't a fascist and the only people using that term are people who used to work closely with Trump before he fired them. Also sometimes Trump uses it to describe his political opponents but he doens't mean it, it's a joke. Except also it's real because those people are the real enemy, the enemy with in.

So chill out, OP. Everything's fine and you are overreacting. Not because what you think is happening isn't happening but because it's actually impossible to tell because everything we say has at least two meanings and we pick those meanings after we know how you're going to respond and they change depending on which cable news program we're currently on. No biggie. Sit back and relax. This isn't going to hurt a bit (well maybe a little).

Please put down the hallucinogenics. Good grief, what a vapid word salad.

??? This perfectly captures MAGA posters on this board. He's not joking...until he is. Over and over.

It’s the same line from them over and over. It’s to drown out other conversation, which is pretty telling. It lets you know which topics really hit a sore spot for them. And as the say, truth hurts.

He’s avoiding the type of swamp-creature re-treads that previous presidents of both parties have relied on (e.g., Rumsfeld, Clapper, Lloyd Austin). And all the other swamp creatures are telling us the sky is falling. But who could possibly be worse than Mayorkas?

You guys haven’t been this mistaken since Whoopi was pulling for Jill “hell of a doctor” Biden to be Surgeon General.

Babe, he was president during a massive crisis last time, and plenty of people didn’t live through it. Look, my family sold a business and made millions during the last Trump administration. It was fantastic for me personally, but I’m just stunned that the working poor, that had to “essential worker” their way through the last Trump term, signed up for more of that.
But I guess they feel like since they dodged a bullet last time, they can do it again.
Good luck to them. I look forward to another tax cut.
