Was that the expected score? It seemed like they have never played each other before.

This is a predictable score.

2007 - 10th
2006/05 - 6th

Top five from the region go to nationals.

Always interesting how this breaks year over year. 2008 was a National Championship contender last year, and this year is struggling to win anything. 2006 was hot when they were in GA, but has been middling in ECNL. They could actually finish 5th this year depending on remaining games. 2009 could be better, but some of their better players are playing on the 2008 team so who knows if they change that next year.

Arlington 2008 was a national championship contender? They didn’t even make the round of 16. Arlington parents are funny.

Yes based on results from previous league games, that score seems right.

Union has some players out with injuries, so maybe could've been closer, but definitely expected an Arlington win for the 2011s.

Insight on how Union played? Sounded like Arlington 11 was going to win anyway but wondering the style of play from Union.

Talking about "style of play" is so stupid and naive at U13. There is no set style of play. Each coach has a preferred way to play the game but the players actually executing upon that continuously in a match doesn't happen at U13

Union won the 10s 2-1. Arlington's keeper was out

Wow, so they played with no keeper and only lost 2-1? That's pretty impressive!

I don't think it's stupid. Curious to see if Union or Arlington were trying to connect or both were playing kickball like many pp on this board have suggested.

Soccer = quickball what do you mean?

Its kickball still even if its after two defenders play with it back and forth to each other. Very few if any Pre u15 teams have the right mix of Defenders and midfielders to play possession soccer. Ask a better question cause the answer is no, nobody played good soccer

Both teams seemed to be working towards possession soccer and trying to minimize kickball. Obviously not perfect because they are kids but a good attempt.

That’s probably fair. You have to be a parent of one of the players to enjoy any U13 team. It’s painful otherwise.

Heard another McLean 11 is jumping ship to Arlington and others leaving for Springfield. Hopefully they can rebound next year.

Not surprising. After all the losses and a big loss to Arlington. Hopefully next year merging with good players from brave will make them more competitive

I think the start of next year will be rocky for FVU but as the year goes on hopefully they will hit their stride. If they do, I’m guessing next year you will see girls not getting as much playing time as they want at current ECNL clubs as well as late bloomers from GFR, VYS, McLean and even Arlington ECNL RL teams tryout.
