Religion
Because this forum has had a pair of trolls for forever. Nothing has changed over the months I’ve been gone. Yeah, maybe one or both of you occasionally takes a vacation. But your posting is generally relentless—which is super-hard to explain for someone who professes not to care about religion. So answer the question: why are you hear 24/7? Just to be clear: there are some thoughtful atheists here and I’m not referring to them. They also aren’t obsessed, |
I posted about the free childcare. It’s the only post I made on this thread. I’m actually Catholic, but we switched to a mega-church when the kids were really little. Someone invited us once, and we felt so free that we stopped going to mass for over a year. When you have four kids under six, childcare is real. Anyway, everyone there talked like this with the being washed in the blood, etc. it was weird as sh!t (I say this as someone who recently attended a service where a grown, well-respected man solemnly held a shepherd’s crook and wore a giant hat while rubbing oil into people’s eyes, lips, hands, and feet). I can see how you get sucked in. |
Again, you are conflating posters. I'm not here 24x7 and have only posted a few times. If you're having trouble following then maybe it's time for you to go back on break. 'Bye! |
Sorry, I don't believe in ghosts. |
To clarify -- an atheist is someone who does not believe in God. They may or may not care about religion. Also, please keep in mind that some people who profess to be religious, don't care about religion very much, or maybe not at all. They may simply identify with a certain religion and/or practice it out of habit or for reasons (i.e., business, family) unrelated to religious belief. |
Correct. Happens to the stupid people who feel like failures elsewhere. |

Can we get back to the question I am still mystified by and no one has answered?
How can you reliably tell the difference between someone who is mentally ill and someone who is genuinely hearing the voice of a deity? |
Many atheists that I know are not miserable and don't think religion is a "pack of lies" (some moral beliefs of various religions are universal), Many were once religious believers themselves and have many friends and family who still are. Please consider turning your questions around to yourself: Are you miserable? Do you hate atheists? |
Sure. Just as soon as you answer the question that was asked first, about why some of you are on here 24/7. |
Nobody’s talking about all atheists, that’s a straw man. We all know happy, respectful atheists. We’re talking about the 2-3 atheists who spend their days trolling DCUM. |
The whole point of faith is that there’s something outside ourselves. You can rule it out for yourself, but you can’t rule it out for others. |
What a load of self-serving BS. |
Pp may call atheists who come to the religion forum "trolls" but that doesn't make them so. Also, "we" all probably don't know "happy, respectful" atheists, because there may be some of us who don't know if any of the people of our acquaintance are atheists. Some atheists are very quiet about their lack of belief, not openly expressing it, or only expressing it anonymously, for instance, her on DCUM. And the questions stand: Are you miserable? Do you hate atheists? |
Seems like you’re the only one who cares about that. If you don’t have anything meaningful to add to the actual topic then maybe you should sit down. |
Given how belligerent that PP is I can answer for him. Yes and yes. |
