Anyone have a really nice, stylish diaper bag they love? One that doesn't scream "diaper bag." I've looked around in the stores and I don't like what I'm seeing, and I'm reluctant to order anything sight unseen without a recommendation. I'm NOT interested in hearing about why I shouldn't purchase a diaper bag. But if anyone has some suggestions on one they mail ordered that they think is great, let me know. Willing to spend up to $150 for the right bag.
Thanks! |
Dwell baby has a couple bags that are modern looking. Also look at the totes from Hable Construction (I have a long handle canvas tote from them that works well and I use it as a personal tote when not bringing baby). I also happen to like the Vera Bradley bags even though some may think they "scream diaper bag". Kate Spade also does a diaper bag, but I think it's kind of boring looking compared to her other stuff.

I love my bag. It doesn't look like a diaper bag. It has cooler pockets built in. It comes with a changing mat. It's so cool. It's in pewter but comes in other colors. I think the pewter looks the least like a diaper bag. Angelina Jolie sports the same one... Yes, and that makes it cool. I got it as a gift from a very hip friend when expecting #2 (after I knew what I needed in a bag). It fits stuff for two under the age of two.

Love my Kate Spade bag-it doesn't look diaperlike and I even use it sometimes without the baby. Another thing that I now appreciate (I had a coach bag as well) is that it isnt' heavy. Seriously-some of the bags out there are a bit heavy without all the baby junk in them but when you put everything in you can wind up with back problems--I know I did and now I just use the Kate Spade bag. |
Our site carries the Fleurville Sling Tote and ReRun Messenger bags. I think they are really stylish and a few friends have purchased them even though they do not have kids! The Black and White GeoBotanical one is especially stylish. Also they are eco-friendly and made out of environmentally responsible materials. DCUMs always get 15% off with the code DCUM15.

I have a Skip Hop and a Petunia Pickle Bottom tote, both of which I absolutely love. The Skip Hops come in a variety of colors and look more like an everyday messenger bag or tote. The PPB is more diaper bag-ish. I've had other bags that I didn't like for one reason or another. IMO, the most important features are that it's lightweight (all the crap you'll stuff in it will be heavy enough), the interior and the exterior are easy to clean, and there are lots of pockets inside and out. |
I was at Wiggle Room in Bethesda last week and they had a few Petunia Picklebottom bags for around $95. They were really cute - looked like very stylish messenger bags with an asian-type floral design. I may go back there and get one! |
These are also nice bags. I got this ad thru CoolMom Picks (a great blog source for shopping!):
