Drop offs/pick ups at Camp

How does it work in the camp your child goes to?

Both of our sons are attending summer camp at Lowell and I have to say the drop off procedure is first rate. The school has a circular drive that we use for drop off. There are multiple drop-off points separated by age group. Staff members are all over the place directing traffic and keeping things moving. I drop our littlest at one stop -- a staff member takes him directly from the car -- and then pull up to another stop and drop the older boy. I'm normally in and out in five minutes or less.

I park, get out of the car, go inside to the gym and sign in on the sign in sheet. (Extended day - perhaps it is more crowded closer to 9)

I don't know what is done at the private school camps.

Again, less than 5 minutes.

Ours is similar to Jsteele. Pull up to circular drive entrance and staff member helps my child out of the car and directs him to his room. At pick-up the process is the same.

I park and have to go to sign my kids in. The kids who have not yet completed a year of elementary school get dropped off in a room that corresponds with where they spent their previous year (ie, 2 yo room, 3 yo room and pre-k - but only the pre-k does real camp, the other two are daycare). The elementary on up can sign themselves in, but I usually stop by on my way out to say have a good day to my older son before I leave. I can do it in 5 minutes or less, but usually get caught up in talking with other moms.
