To the Hobbits. What did they do to deserve that comparison?

I'm pretty sure he didn't initiate the comparison. He was reading from a WSJ editorial that was comparing the Tea Party to a bunch of rotten little brats living in lala-land.
The WSJ's editors have finally found right-wingers who are even more extremist than they are. Or to put it differently, right-wingers whose ideas threaten not only the 99% of the population the WSJ has always been happy to throw under the bus, but now also for the first time, the interests of the top 1% whom they have striven relentlessly to fatten up at everybody else's expense. |
The WSJ is concerned because their bond market overlords are concerned now.
Because when your household is running a deficit, you would NEVER think of taking a higher-paying job. |
Thank you!!! That has been my thought from day one - I have always wondered why this meme never came out - it's ridiculous to say that a household only cuts expenses when running a deficit - many, many times the household finds ways to get more income (spouse goes back to work, person gets a higher paying job that may not be as fulfilling, etc. etc. etc.) It's RIDIculous to say that cutting expenses is our only way out of this mess even with the metaphor of kitchen table economics. |
There was a profile of smirky Eric Cantor, which reported that his yearbook quote was "I want what I want when I want it." Sounds like he's always been petulant. |
