Looking for feedback on Little Feet Child Development Center in Silver Spring. Any comments? My husband and I are looking for child care for our baby who is due around Thanksgiving.

Thanks.

Do a search of this forum for "Little Feet." I recall seeing some really alarming posts about the place, something about the owner taking kids from the center to a different unlicensed location.

I already found that one, and it's from 2009. So, I'm hoping to get some updated information.

If those allegations from 2009 are true, would you really use such a center so long as people tell you that they aren't doing it anymore? Are people that desperate for childcare?

It is true they gave away spots and shuttled kids down the street without parents consent or knowledge. Every time I did pickup (in middle of winter) the kids being shuttled were miraculously ready to go home and waiting back in the infant room, gloves, hats and jackets all on. Some of the teachers facilitated this when they saw a parent pull up or knew what time they arrived, some did not. Most of the teachers were great. I can't say the same thing about the director. Look up all the violations on the county website. Additionally, a simple Maryland judiciary case search by company name shows a definite pattern of how they conduct business there. Friends we made used to ask us if our child was ok because they did not see the child when they were there - pretty scary.

Thanks for that last reply. I think that makes up my mind. I'm already worried enough about leaving my baby somewhere! Can you tell me the websites to do the searches?

The house they were using around the corner was obviously someones residence and back then was poorly equipped. Basically a bunch of cribs and floor mats on the first floor. I was never offered a tour nor told my child was being taken there after we would drop off in the infant room. I finally had to ask to see this place and was not impressed. After the director announced she was closing the room on a Friday only to change her mind by monday was the last straw. Links below.

Thanks so much. I hadn't found that first link. The few searches I have done so far from the second link aren't very detailed! I really, really wish this process was easier! Thanks for your advice.

Little Feet has always been a great center for my 3 children. It was like a second family and the staff was very reliable. Therevwas never any secret location and my children were ready to go home when I arrived duly clothed with coat, hat, and acqrves for the simple fact that unwashed in a hurry to get home after a long day. They were smply helping out the parents with hectic schedule
Some of these allegations I've read are alarming yet totally false.
I recall parents who failed to pay there tuition and was dismissed because of it become vengeful and post false comments about this wonderful center. It is a shame because I wish other centers were like this one!

Parents, don't take chances with your kids. Avoid this place like the plague.

Wow, I must be dreaming then, I could have sworn it was a completely different location around the corner where I watched teachers marching kids back and forth through the side gate. I was even inside the secret location. Oddly, there is only one address on file for the license. Guess I am dreaming. Stranger though, my parent friends from the center must have been dreaming too when the they told me my child was not there after being dropped off and my childs crib was given away (sold to more unsuspecting parents). Then when the room closed on a Friday and all the parents were scrambling to make other arrangements by Monday-it was a dream (nightmare).

Little feet has been the best experience in my child's development. My experience at Little Feet for about two years is one of a kind, my son loves it. My son came to Little Feet when he was 3 months. The most reason why I liked Little Feet because of it small class sizes, I knew my child will acquire the nesscary attention, not only that but the teachers were very professional and friendly. The teachers had communiced all the things that were nesscary concerning my son. Now that my child is two ,he has learned so much at Little Feet, he's very excited and happy to be at Little Feet. The children are friendly at Little Feet.I highly recommend Little Feet to some one that looking for child care.

My daughter has been at Little Feet for a little over a year and a half now. She began in the infant room and is now in the 2 year old room. I am an educator and so have fairly high standards for what I expect from a day care. I have been very happy. She is learning a lot. Ms. Tessa and Ms. Taha in the infant room took great care of my daughter. Ms. Elvia and Ms. Glousine (spelling?) are taking fabulous care of her in the two year old room. She absolutely LOVES going to school. Over long weekends she asks me to go to school. The center is very clean and smells good. The owner takes time to close the center and professionally develop the staff. The owner has also responded quickly to any concerns I have expressed in the past. The only negative things to say are I wish there was climbing equipment for the toddlers at the center (There is an elementary school across the street and sometimes after I pick her up I take her over to their playground to get some of her energy out.) and there are a lot of mosquitos in the summer. I spray bug spray on her in the morning during the hot months. The mosquitos bother me but is a small price to pay for my daughter LOVING her time at school every day.
