First check your GFIs. (The outlets with the little button that pops out in case of instability in the current.) There's likely at least one in your kitchen -- try resetting that and see what happens. If that doesn't solve the problem, check the other GFIs in the house. Often they're wired in such a way that something trips the GFI, which then shuts down power to all the other outlets downstream on the same circuit. So a blown GFI in the bathroom could cut power to your kitchen.
Also recheck your panel. Make sure the breakers are ALL the way over to "on"; it may be that one tripped enough to cut the power but didn't physically move all the way over to the "off" position.
