Infertility Support and Discussion
| The doctors are great! I really like them a lot - have had positive interactions with each of them. The nurses, on the other hand, just are the total opposite. There actually was one who I really liked, but other than that they drive me nuts. They are just not nice people and are often abrasive and borderline rude. I feel like they never have their story straight about one thing or the other and I frankly don't trust them. I can't switch clinics at this point. Nothing I can really do except suck it up, I guess, right? |
| At the very least, you should say something to your doctor. Or maybe there's an office manager that deals with these issues? |
| Let me guess. You're at Dominion. |
| I am not the OP but have heard some iffy things about the Dominion nurses and I'm currently choosing a clinic. 17:37, could you expand on your experiences? |
|
17:37 here. Let me tell you about my ridiculous 2 year tour through RE's here in the DC area. I just hope people can learn from me.
Started at Shady Grove. Felt that they gave us too much of a "hard sell" to IVF, so went back to my OB (who I love) who recommended Washington Fertility. Please do not go here. Imagine saying you want a nice steak and someone takes you to Sizzler. This is the best way I can describe Dr. Asmar and Washington Fertility. The nurses, the billing people, the receptionist, they are all horrible. Nasty, incompetent, etc. Just stay away. Then went to Dominion to do their Natural Cycle. Was moderately happy there until stupid Dimattina royally screwed up. Plus he just lost a huge lawsuit which sort of mimics my experience with him. When we got our records and were reading the notes, the nurses wrote a lot of untrue things they claim my husband and I said in the conversations. I assume they were protecing their jerk of a boss who made a huge mistake when I was in his care. In hindsight, the nurses there are very very young. I'd say 80% of the nurses there are 24 years old or younger. Not that this matters a whole lot, but they are just young and not very experienced. So we went back to Shady Grove. I'm in the middle of the the stims, and it has been an amazing difference. The nurses are a mix of young and older, but most have a ton of experience and are extremely nice and informative. I'm not doing a commercial for SG because I know plenty of people had a bad experience there and truthfully we left there with a bad feeling 2 years ago too so I know what people are saying. No matter where you go, I just hope you stay away from WFC and Dominion. |
| Oh, and you should know that Dimattina and his nurses have been caught leaving positive messages on several popular fertility message boards, here included I believe. They deny it when people ask them, but years back there was an incident where they were doing this from the actual Dominion office and it showed up on the stats records of that website. Too funny. If they were doing a good job they wouldn't need to fake their reviews. |
| I agree with previous posters regarding Dominion nurses. A young nurse was doing my IUI and could not open up my cervix (never happened before when an experienced nurse did it). After a few failed attempts and hurting my cervix in the process, she finally found it. As a result, I spotted for a couple days after IUI and had pain too. I just don't understand why doctors don't do IUIs at Dominion especially when I have insurance coverage. |
