Infertility Support and Discussion

I have not been ovulating regularly for the past few years. Gyn and Endo can't really come up with a reason. I've been checked for PCOS and my hormone levels and blood sugar levels don't seem to match that diagnosis. Both docs said it might be due to stress and we would just have to try Chlomid when we were ready to TTC. I kind of ingored the stress theory because it seems like they blame everything on stress.
Well, I took a three week vacation from my stressful job to visit family and to re-connect with old friends. My husband and I had a great time and my cycle came back. I got another period 2 weeks after I got back to work but then the stress returned and I haven't gotten another period in the last 4-5 months. Now, I'm starting to believe it is stress as I am otherwise healthy. Here's the question, would you: 1) quit your high paying stressful job with good benefits for something lower stress or 2) take cholomid to induce ovulation and hope that the stress that is preventing ovulation doesn't hurt the baby, keep the salary and benefits? |
| It's hard to say, OP ... In today's reality, finding a new job might not be so easy. But I completely side with the thought that it's due to stress, and as we all know/hear, there will be many potentially stressful things to deal with over the course of a pregnancy. Are you able to perhaps manage with just your husband's salary, if say you do quit and maybe wish to stay home (or if it takes longer than anticipated for you to find something else)? |

this is a tough one - you don't sound incredibly stressed out - are you? if yes, i might try some stress reduction technqiues first (especially if you like your job). maybe yoga, pilates, swimming, nights out with the girls? can you try to cut back on your hours a bit? was there anything else different about being home? nutrition better? more sleep? I might also try to throw in acupuncture - they can really help regulate your cycle
