gutterguards

Has anyone used gutterman gutterguards? do they work - especially during heavy downpours? how about the screen mesh option they have? They are very expensive and before we take the plunge, we'd love to hear from others.

I have gutterguards but don't know the brand. They were already in place when I bought the house.

I still have to climb up on a ladder and clean the gutters because matted leaves and twigs build up on top of the mesh. The sun bakes the debris into a hard pulp so I have to scrape it & hose it off.

Little bits of bark, twigs, and leaves sift through the mesh and accumulate in the gutter. You can't just aim the hose in there and wash it out, you have to remove part of the gutterguard.

I had to pry up one of the guards to unclog a gutter.

If you think getting them means you won't have to clean gutters you are wrong unless you live where there are no trees close to your house.

Agree with pp - my DH installed them, and in addition to those problems we've also had standing water (hello, mosquitos!) because the gutters get filled with stuff. Not sure its worth it.

worthless, they have gutter systems that are differnet but still the same issue leaves get caught inthere and you are taking them apart to clean them. It is just as easy to clean them out
