Now that chandeliers have become so grossly trendy that you can buy a tshirt with an image of one ( vomit: http://skreened.com/btoondesign/chandelier), have they become lame in home decor, outside of traditional uses like a dining room?
I notice chandeliers even in nurseries nowadays! What do you think? I ask because I am considering one in my crafting room. The room is a pale peachy pink with white trim and very old, weathered wood floors. |
| They do always make me think of my grandmother's house. However, I saw one in a liftle girl's room recently, and hought it was very cute. I think it could cool, if it's clear that it was done to be purposefully retro and with a sense of humor. I have a friend that has a very over the top decorating style, and she could pull it off. |

There's so much room for creativity when choosing a chandelier. If you're going for cliche, you'll find it. But, you might also find whimsy or whatever else inspires you. It's like saying the "little black dress" has been done. Well, of course. But, finding something that suits you is what makes it work. |
