Pre-debate??? Now I believe that Trump and his kids would try to pull this off, but not Pence or medical professionals. Maybe they didn’t tell Pence? How will we ever know?

I don't think they knew then. The entire GOP Senate Judiciary Committee, several Cabinet members, Trump's entire adult child line-up, and lots of other D.C. mucky-mucks are in that crowd unmasked.

It makes no sense to infect all his supporters and I stand by the fact that a Covid-19 infection in Trump is the worst thing that could ever happen to him - politically or professionally.

He's been taken off the campaign trail at a critical moment - four weeks before election day when every moment counts.

He's been forced to re-direct his campaign focus again at a critical moment when all he wanted to do was talk up the economy and now is forced to recognize that 210,000 Americans died on his watch.

His campaign coffers are also broke and the biggest campaign donations come in the form of $200,000 per couple in-person dinners with him or Pence. Those are all cancelled.

He's also just afraid of dying. Don't forget Trump refused to see his dying brother because he was terrified of returning to New York City - the center of the Covid-19 crisis all spring. He finally went to see Robert who passed 3 days after Trump was at his hospital bed but he had weeks of knowledge that he should be there.

You make the assumption they thought he was asymptomatic and simply didn't care about anyone else.

I’m not sure where to post this question-

Let’s say trump died at some point in the next few weeks or possibly after the election

If he and pence won

Would pence be P? Who would be VP?

He's a narcissist but the one thing Trump has proved is that he has an obsessive love of Ivanka. If no one else, he wouldn't have exposed her.

Pence would be President. If Trump dies after the election and before the Inauguration - Pence would have to consult with the Republican National Convention for an appropriate VP candidate.

If Trump dies after the Inauguration - Pence can just choose whoever because he is no longer a 'candidate'.

Narcissists only love themselves in the end. He loves Ivanka because she is a good accessory, but she in the end, even she is disposable.

I don’t think it’s that clear. I think the most likely outcome is that the RNC gets together and asks the electors for Trump to vote for Pence (assuming they agree on that— they could pick someone else even).. If enough states permit their electors to vote for the RNC candidate, Pence could become president. If state law doesn’t permit that it’s possible the election gets thrown to the House (if no one has a majority) with each state getting one vote (which could be a close vote if D’s pick up a few seats in a few states).

After the inauguration if Trump wins but dies and Pence becomes President then Pence picks a new VP but both House and Senate have to approve them.

Pence is automatically President after the election because he is the second person on the ticket at the RNC Convention. Their fate was sealed from that moment which is why I’m glad Trump got Covid now and not then. The RNC can’t do anything until the election runs its course. Even if Trump dies before 11/03.

He would literally gain nothing by killing off his family or supporters. Nothing.

Now if it had been an audience of Democrats or even bipartisan - I would agree with you.

Wow! Such money grubbers

Yeah, who exactly is profiting from all the Trump crap on that site? Because that’s not the actual gift shop associated with the White House, which is here: https://shop.whitehousehistory.org/

Can anyone here search owners of websites?

It will be worth a fortune if he dies. I know it's macabre but true.

Precisely why I plan to order one the moment he goes on a ventilator. I hope they don’t cancel the supply run.

It's true that he has nothing to gain that way, but he also is unlikely to have considered that. He wanted a showy announcement without masks because that has a political benefit. He took no thought to the risks or convinced himself it wasn't risky. That's the same way he has been approaching everything COVID since January.
