Patowmack Farms: Attire?

Anonymous
DH and I are going to Patowmack Farm for dinner tonight. It's supposed to be 100 degree there and I heard the dining room is in a glass-enclosed area of sorts. Assuming they cool it, but still thinking it will be better to wear something light. Unfortunately, most of my light stuff is on the more casual side and the reviews recommend business attire. Is Bebe too casual for this restaurant? I also have this super-cute shift dress that I got in Spain, but it's cream colored and must be worn with a slip (hot).

Light is best, casual is fine. We do have AC, but it will be a little warm earlier on.

Looking forward to cooking for you!

Thank you, Chef! We had a fantastic meal. The Farm to Fork prix fixe was truly delightful. We're coming back SOON.

Gosh, I really hope this thread is true. A potential patron poses a question about appropriate attire and the Chef conveniently posts back-coincidentally being on DCUM at 6pm on a Saturday night. OP posts back about how wonderful the meal was, specifically mentioning the prix fixe deal. Is this all too good to be true and I am just some silly conspiracy theory nut? Or is this some thinly veiled advertising?

This is the OP. No, it's not advertising. It was a lovely surprise to hear from the chef on DCUM, but I have absolutely no connection to this place and my comments are 100% my true feelings (as well as my DH's and the couple we were there with).

Sometimes in life people are just nice and good reviews are earned. Sorry to burst your cynical world view, 19:08.

Thanks for your sincere reply and I apologize for being jaded. My first thought when the chef chimed in was "how nice that is". Maybe I'm a little paranoid after being fired from Trader Joe's publicist department.

Plus, the food isn't very good and most of it isn't farm to table, so I continue to be a skeptic.

The farm to table or "Farm to Fork" thing was something Loudoun County did last week at a lot of their restaurants. So that is why there would have been a deal on it at that restaurant when this was posted.

But the chef conveniently on DCUM at six on a Saturday night? What does that have to do with organic produce?

chef edwards here, interesting commentary going on. i remember that day very clearly. as i was walking up to our fields to collect some ingredients for the menu we were serving that evening, i received an email, a google alert, that i subscribe to for the purpose of tracking any internet activity regarding our restaurant's name. it happens instantly, and i do have an iphone, so i took the opportunity to respond to the inquiry of our dress code. we are a restaurant known for the personal service we offer, as well as the food we serve. i could speak on a lot of details regarding local, organic, sustainability, and general service etiquette, but that would require lots of txt. i followed up on my reply to this forum, that night, and i did not see any replies. so i forgot about it. then tonight i received the greatest compliment. the original poster returned to our restaurant, mentioned that she had been here before and was thrilled that i had taken the time to reply to the original post. and she brought her friends, another compliment, that means a lot to me. to consolidate this information, i would say that we have an excellent restaurant, offer an amazing experience, and are true to our philosophy. we would never compromise our integrity by soliciting false internet reviews, or creating unverified accounts of a dining experience at patowmack farm. anyone who has any questions?, concerns, and/or comments please feel free to call me personally or email me. my phone number is 571-439-6653 and my email is chefedwards@patowmackfarm.com

Now that's pretty cool.

I use google alerts and can totally see this happening.

Just found this thread in a google search. Wondering what to wear

We went in the summer. Just wore a linen dress and wedge sandals. Husband wore a shirt and tie. Not sure what you’d wear in this weather but probably something dressy
