Faint line on HPT

Anonymous
I had a frozen embryo transfer 9 days ago and am scheduled for a pregnancy blood test at my fertility doctor's office next week. I've been experiencing some pregnancy symptoms (ones I recognize from my previous pregnancy) so I took 2 HPTs this morning and got very faint lines on both (First Response). This is the first time I've done an HPT in a very long time, so just wondering if anyone else has had this and wound up pregnant.

A line is a line, does not matter if it is faint or not. The only reason to doubt it is if you had an hcg trigger shot or if it showed up after the window of time for reading the test. You can test again tomorrow.

Congrats!!

I should add that I got faint lines in the mornings and darker lines in the afternoon.

sounds great- i'm sure you're anxious to know the hcg numbers- it sounds great!

You're pregnant! It's great that you're getting a + so early-I got a + on day 11 (conceived naturally) and had a successful pregnancy (my only 1 out of 4).

If it comes up on time it is a positive, faint or not!!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!

OP here -- thanks everyone. I had my first beta yesterday and it was 923, so I am indeed definitely pregnant. On the "General Discussion" board there is a thread called "DCUM Farce" where people are basically just making fun of ridiculous posts that people have made (borderline funny/nasty) and they refer to a pregnancy test post where apparently someone wrote in that they had a plus sign on their pregnancy test, the box said that meant they were pregnant, and were wondering if they were pregnant. I'm guessing it's someone making fun of this post!

Congrats on the pregnancy! I think the other post is just for giggles. They wouldn't be able to write so much if they weren't reading so much

OP -- Congratulations! There is nothing funny about your post. There are many posts here from women who had faint lines on their HPT, where the faint line indicated a chemical pregancy, not a sustainable pregnancy. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience. 923 is a great number for your first beta so it looks like you have the real deal.

Totally agree, this is not a stupid question, esp with the whole worry about chemical pregnancies.

But no worries, you have great news, so congratulations!!!

Congratulations! Hope you have a healthy, uneventful pregnancy.

Ignore the posts on the other thread (I don't even think they were referring to your post in particular). You had a legitimate question. Do you really care what a bunch of strangers think?
Anonymous
obviously she cares what a bunch of stranger think or she wuoldn't have posted!

problem comes when you only care what they think when they agree with you!!

Congrats! As for the people poking fun, it happened to me too (I will not mention which subject for fear of further shenanigans!) and I'm ok with it b/c I could see how it might a silly question to someone who doesn't know me. For example, I'm betting you were too nervous/hopeful to believe the home test results, versus a ditz who can't read a box. (I'm an educated professional, but after my IVF it took multiple HPTs and the beta before I let myself believe it).

So, laugh at who they thought you were - or just laugh because there's a baby on the way! Glad the beta confirmed it - just wait until you get to see that first ultrasound in a few weeks!
