I am new to the area, and looking for a home in Springfield or Alexandria. Who should I contact? Are there any neighborhood aassociations or listserves that I should subscribe to?

If you are looking on Old Town, we've worked very successfully with Babs Beckwith. Carol Cleary is also very well regarded for getting things done well and creatively.

West Springfield is COVERED in "Bruce and Tanya" real estate signs. Haven't used them, though, but they'll certainly know the market.

Having lived in Burke and seeing the bruceandtanya.com signs, they tend to sell a lot of higher priced houses, which may not be a problem for you. I have also noticed a lot of their homes reducing their prices before selling. Maybe they've got too much going on? And no I am not a rival real estate agent.
