Pediatricians in Dupont Circle area

Hi everyone,

I am 7.5 months pregnant and I guess it’s time to find a pediatrician. I learned that one important criteria is proximity to your house – can anyone recommend pediatricians in the Dupont Circle area and what are some other things to look for when finding the right doctor for your kid.

A colleague of mine recommended Washington Pediatrics, just south of Dupont on 19th. It looks like they have open house sessions every other Thursday for expecting parents, but I haven't been yet. www.washingtonpediatric.com

I'd do a search first on the posts on Dr Lang before you head to Washington Pediatrics. (both in this forum and also in the General Parenting one). I (and others) have been pretty disappointed there. Dr Lang herself is great. The admin staff are a nightmare and really rude. I left there for that reason.

We're now with Foxhall Pediatric Associates and they are fantastic. They are further away however, up in Glover Park near Balducci's.

Check out the archives for 2141 K Children's Pediatrics and the offices of Pullman/Ariza. Those plus Dr. Lang are the ones closest to Dupont. We loved 2141 K.

LOVE CP&A (2141 K) we primarily go to Wagner but honestly all the peds there are fantastic. It's not a chi chi place, though, very urban (which i like) f that's more of what you're looking for. Another plus -- they work with Chicldren's so if you ever need to get over there they'll help/arrange for you. One downside i think is they don't have a sick waiting area but that's minor and i wouldn't switch, they're really great. Nurse line open most of the time (can't recall exact hours) and they've ALWAYS returned calls within 30 mins and are actually very helpul.

We go to Washington Pediatrics on 19th and love it. We usually see Dr. Sage and she is so fantastic. Love her. I found the front desk staff and nurses to be nice and friendly as well.

I left Pullman and Ariza for Washington Pediatric Associates, and have NO complaints. The front office staff have been very helpful to me, providing me with letters and forms that I have needed for daycare with very short notice. Dr. Sage is fantastic, and Dr. Lang is great.

The only time I've had to wait longer than an hour was on the Wednesday they reopened after being closed for the new year. Usually, I'm in and out within an hour, even for sick appointments.
