Help - I am swamped but need to bring dessert to a dinner party tonight. What is the most delicious, child-friendly (yet suitably impressive for adults) dessert that I can buy in CC/Bethesda/Silver Spring/NW DC area?
Thanks! |
| Praline Bakery in the Sangamore shopping center in safeway has really fantastic cakes and cookies. If I wanted to splurge and bring something to a dinner party that would appeal to both adults and kids, I'd get one of their gorgeous, to-die-for walnut or hazelnut daquoise cakes for the adults (maybe about $35/cake?), and then some cookies for kids. My kids love the lemon drop cookies and double chocolate. |

PP here. I just checked the websit and looks like their cakes are $30 apiece, not $35. And I misspelled "dacquoise."

| I've gotten a beautiful and delicious mango mousse cake at Wagshals. I think it was between $10-15. I don't even like mango that much and I loved it. |
Thanks PPs! I usually try to do somethng homemade but that is just NOT happening today.
