Shout out to Dr. Sacks

I had a mini meltdown last night--was convinced that my pregnancy had ended (as my previous one had)--and emailed Dr. Sacks this morning. He got back to me in 30 seconds and told me to come in. When we got there we waited less than 10 minutes to see him and get an A-ok sono (yay!). Today I have peace of mind and I am so so so grateful for this kind and understanding doctor.

He did this for me on 3 occasions through 2 pregnancies. Love Dr. Sacks.

PP here. Correction: He did it 3 times for 4 pregnancies. But 2 of those pregnancies yielded babies!

I had early bleeding with my eventual successful twin pregnancy. Dr Sacks saved me from several days of mental torture with this kind of pronto-sono service. I will forever be grateful to him.

Same thing with me! I was so worried about miscarrying, and Dr. Sacks said to come in whenever I needed to hear the baby's heartbeat. I think I went in once a week for three week's straight! He was very gracious throughout my paranoia. I hated having to transition to my OB because I loved the personal attention Dr. Sacks gave me.

I have heard ONLY good things about Dr. Sacks.

I went to him for 2 cycles. I thought he was very kind and nice. However, after 2 cycles of IVF didn't work (on top of 3 IUIs) I got 2 second opinions and both thought his approach was not aggressive enough for AMA. I went to "Cornell" in NY and they took a different approach which worked for me.

Question (and please take this in the spirit in which it is intended, which is from someone who also sufferend from numerous miscarriages): Who paid for all of these sonos (and the doctor's time) that were conducted just to reassure?

20:24: I am in the same situation. 4 IUIs and an IVF and now seeking a second opinion. Could I ask what Cornell did that was so different from Sacks? I am also AMA.

I did pay a co-pay for each of the "reassuring" sonos. I think the co-pay was $30. For me, it was money well spent to hear my baby's heartbeat and know that everything was okay.
