Yellow Tail Snapper -- How Would You Cook it?

Anonymous
I sent DH out to the market to buy salmon which I know how to cook, but he brought home yellow tail Snapper because the salmon didn't look good.

I've never cooked snapper. Can I treat it the same as salmon?

If not -- suggestions for recipes or preparation? I've Googled but most seem to call for tropical ingredients like Mango Salsa and coconut which I don't have and I would prefer not to have to go out to the store.

This looks good if you are saving your snapper for tomorrow night.

I thought it was an Atlantic Ocean fish!! It isn't???

The yellowtail snapper, Ocyurus chrysurus, is an abundant species of snapper found along the North American coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Although they have been found as far north as Massachusetts, their normal range is along Florida down through the West Indies and Brazil.
