Target normally has them. I think the brand is O'Malley? If you really want to treat yourself try Soft Surroundings.

Neiman Marcus sells a brand called Celestine Lingerie. The make the most amazing cotton nightgowns. The quality of cotton is really unmatched. It's truly luxurious. So soft and lightweight. They almost have an etherial quality.

For yourself, or a child? If for yourself, I really like the Vera Wang cotton nightgowns sold at Kohls. Cute prints and really soft cotton. Just don't buy at full price, they generally go on sale. Also like some of the brands sold at Macy's -- Alfani and I think Nautica? Also only buy on sale, they are overpriced otherwise.

Garnet Hill has the best/softest. Not cheap though unfortunately.

Try pajamagram.com Have had luck there. Can't remember whether they have nightgowns, but I seem to remember that they do. Cotton and comfy pjs for adults and kids.

If for kids, Mini Boden has great ones for summer and winter. There's usually a 15 or 20% off coupon code with free shipping and returns floating around online so you don't have to pay full price.

Sorry - they are out of season right now. Should be back in the fall. I bought several for my DD and these were by far the best.

Federal regulations require kids' pj's to be flame-resistant (hence all the polyester crap in stores) or snug-fitting, which is why cotton sets tend to have pants that look like leggings or snug shorts. I'd be very surprised if you could find a cotton nightgown, I just don't think they exist anymore.

They do exist. Mini Boden are our favorites. Other brands are Sarah's Prints (or some name like like that) and Keedo, too. I think Lands' End or maybe LL Bean has them sometimes and Hanna Andersson every once in a while though they have mostly long and short johns now.
