Help! Where did you buy your window treatments/drapes? WE have none!!

Anonymous
We desperately need window treatments. I called belfort and basically the cheapest they can do one window is $700. Granted, that includes installation and someone to measure for it (who knew measuring would be a separate charge) but it's just not happening. I don't want anything from bed bath and beyond - it's too flimsy and not what we're looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions? We're looking for drapes/sheers for our living room and dining room. One of our living room windows is 156 inches wide (it's three windows all next to each other) so we're going to need custom hardware for that. I have no idea where to go, but the thought of spending 700 on one 30 inch window is killing me. It just won't happen. Any suggestions? thank you!!!

We ordered from blinds.com and did the installation ourselves. It was much, much less expensive than any local place.

JCPenney has good options.

We got 2" faux wood blinds from justblinds.com several years ago and are very pleased with them.

We got some from country curtains and from zgallerie.com. I also saw some nice ones at macy's website (this was last year).

Try Madura. It's somewhat complicated because the closest store is in NYC but if you're ok shopping online they have absolutely beautiful stuff for decent prices.

I think ikeas curtains look much nicer than bed bath and beyond, especially if you like a light, airy look. M

Penneys, Tuesday Morning, sites like Domestications, Overstock, SmartBargains. Once you know what you're looking for, you can buy pretty much anywhere.

JCPenney has great sales if you watch for them and I like Bali Blinds which are carried at JCPenney. They have a website to help you select styles and swatches that you like. They even send the swatches for free. You can use the free mobile app or the My Decorator (virtual decorator) tool online to pair your actual wall, floor, furniture, and accessory colors with the swatches that you are interested in. Check it out at www.baliblinds.com
