OT- Boden / Mini Boden

I know Mini Boden is popular amongst DCUMs for kids, but what does everyone think of their women's clothes? Have never ordered stuff other than for the kids. Is the women's line good quality? How is sizing? Am tempted to pull the trigger given the current sale, but am nervous about sizing for myself! TIA!

I got a cute dress there, and one that is actually somewhat frumpy.. guess it's hit or miss? My size was pretty spot-on, and the quality seems good so far.

I like the clothes for me, I think its over-priced for my kids clothes. The sizing is pretty true to size based on the measurements in the catalog. I have bought sweaters, shirts and dresses there.

Thx PPs. OP here, and I agree that the prices are outrageous for kids, but that's why I buy during the clearance sales. Glad to hear the women's sizing is pretty true to size, so I don't need to worry about ordering up or down. Appreciate the feedback.

I just bought my first item from Boden during this sale. I bought one of their maxi dresses. I've worn it once and I love it. It's very soft and fits great. I was unsure of what size to order because I had a baby a month ago. I actually went with a size smaller than I am right now, thinking I'd lose more weight over the summer and it's not an issue.

Great quality for both. Fabrics they use are all high quality and IMO step above the Gap and equal or better than Hanna A. I've never been disappointed. Our boys mostly wear mini Boden and Tea Collection. Super cute stuff for boys.

Depends on your frame, I think. I have stopped buying clothes from Boden because they never fit correctly. I am 5'4" and about 105 lbs. I buy their smallest sizes but they are still too wide, too long, too low-cut, and just too big all around! Very disappointing. Catalogs now go right into the recycling.

OP again - interesting about the petite sizes. I am 5'9" and 145-150, so I actually like that the sizes are a little wider (lol - thanks a lot, birthing hips!) and that they have "Long" sizes. Sucks about the petite thing, but great for us more "statueseque" ladies!

I've been very happy with the clothes I've bought from Boden.

I do like Hanna Andersson's cotton more than the Mini Boden. Mini Boden is a trimmer fit. Both are good options when on sale.

I love the fact that the post actual garment measurements. Helps me to pick the right size, as I am between sizes on the bottom, depending on the cut (particularly the rise).

When buying tops and dresses, pay particular attention to the "neck drop" measurement listed on the website. Many of their tops dip too low for me to wear without a cami (my bra cups show, and they are demi cups).

My only negative comment about Boden is that a lot of the so-called washable clothes need to be laid flat to dry. I don't really have the space for that and hang them, when I remember. Some shirts have gone through the dryer and are now too short.

I've never seen anything cute for kids on clearance on the racks. I like tea though.

Nice quality. Bright colors and patterns (what is with the anemic Banana republic colors that have been everywhere since the 90's?) Hit or miss fit. I order when I get a good deal and free returns.

the best thing about Boden (other than the fact that I just love the stuff) is the reader reviews. As a mom of two, I never have time to shop in stores anymore and Boden is one of my favorites because they have really good reader reviews which tell you if it is true to size or not. I follow the advice and have never had to return. and they are having 60% off right now!

Love Boden. I'm 5'9" and 135 -- fit perfectly into their size 6.

I will say I've never purchased pants from them. I love their tops, skirts, dresses.

I also do like the kids clothing, though I only buy on sale. They actually had a better sale going before end of season than their current prices, with more stock. And I buy ahead. Love the return policy.
