I first tasted wine (any kind of alcohol for that matter) at the age of 26 so I don't have much experience with wine and all that I can say is I like the sweeter red wines. Can you recommend any specific name or what I should I look for on the bottle? My frequency is about one glass a week.
Just don't ask me why I waited for so long
Thanks. |
| Sweeter red wines? Hmmm... Have you thought about Rose? Used to be a joke wine but there are some terrific ones out now. Merlots can often be milder than other reds. |

A few thoughts and questions:
Is this to drink with a meal or appetizers? Different wines complement different foods. A bottle contains ~5 glasses and should be finished within a day or two of being opened. So you are going to waste a lot of wine if you are having one glass a week and pouring out the rest. You might like dessert wines, such as port. They don't go bad very quickly, so you can have an open bottle of port for quite a while. You might like Beaujolais Nouveau. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaujolais_nouveau Look into getting splits (~ half size bottles) or single-serve bottles. The selection won't be very good, but you won't be wasting as much. |
| Thank you PPs. I want to have wine in the evenings after dinner while spending a little downtime with DH. He can always finish what I dont finish. |
