Lawn care providers/ lawn care for dummies

I need some advise/help regarding lawn care.

I have never hired the services of a lawn maintenance company before. I have a 3000 sqft front yard (in Arlington, VA) and I'm thinking of hiring a lawn maintenance company.

1) Do you usually hire them for the entire year? or just for the growing season May 1st to Oct 30th?

2) Got any recommendations? Prices?

You typically hire them for the season and I think most of them will go into November because of leaves.

No recs here. My husband refuses to pay for this service even though he complains about cutting the lawn ever single weekend.

I would shop around and get several quotes. You don't have to be home when they come around for a quote so that makes it easier. We live in Vienna-the company that provided the best prices for biweekly mowing was out in Sterling-I'll try to find you their name and number. We hired them for biweekly mowing, and leaf collection. For us, outsourcing the lawn service as a huge help. It's usually $35/week for mowing and then approximately $45/biweekly.
