GT/AAP at Keene Mill Center

Hello

My kid got accepted to Keene Mill, AAP program, we did not attend the orientation meeting, does anybody know about the school, the GT program and the activities for children, PTA etc. My daughter will be entering 4th grade. thanks for your help and info

Great school, great teachers! My child was in the GT program there for third through sixth grades. We could not have been happier. The school sponsors a chess club and a number of other activities that enable the parents and students to get together socially.
The strings program is particularly outstanding- the teacher who runs it is very involved and nurturing. The kids love her.

NP here - do you know how many AAP classes there are for each grade? And do the AAP kids have an opportunity to share any classes/specials with non-AAP kids?

Usually there are two AAP classes per grade, although one grade had three classes for fourth through sixth, so they will add a class if necessary.
I know they have PE with the non- AAP kids, not sure about art and music. Also, each grade is in the cafeteria together at lunchtime.

I've heard that there will definitely be three 3rd grade AAP classes at Keene Mill this fall. My son is looking forward to going there this fall.

Keene Mill has a new principal this year as the prior one switched to another school. The new principal is Renee Miller.
