do you interview / meet with >1 buyers agent? is that unreasonable?

I am a previous poster ready to start my home search.
I've been given a few recommendations for realtors and thought about meeting with more than one before committing - does that seem reasonable?

Yes that is perfectly reasonable. I met with a buyer's agent to interview her and she said the purpose of the meeting was to find out if
a. we wanted to work with her
b. she wanted to work with us - thought our goals were realistic, etc. and that personally we were a fit for each other and our expectations of her were reasonable

At the end of the meeting we all felt comfortable so I signed the agreement to work with her exclusively. I ended up canceling the other interviews because I felt like we were in good hands. Turns out we found a great house and closed last November!

Most realtors will take yoou out once before you sign a contract so that you can get a sense of their style and both parties can decide if it would be a good working relationship.

Before my husband and I signed with our buyer's agent, we went to a ton of open houses and therefore met a ton of agents. When it came time to get serious and sign an agent, we went with one we met at an open house that we felt really comfortable with - he had taken a lot of time to talk to us about being first time homebuyers, the process, etc. It turned out to be an excellent choice.

Yes, definitely interview more than one buyer's agent. I strongly recommend Home Buying for Dummies. It was so informative and in-depth. It has lists of questions to consider, including questions to ask buyer's agents when you are trying to pick one.
