Or at least I thought so until I read about how he does not want this scandal to ruin his bid to buy the rest of British Sky Broadcasting. Imagine the love child of Ebeneezer Scrooge and the Grinch developing a conscience. Oh, well... |
Just a PR exercise. NOTW will essentially be combined with the Sun and life will go as usual. It will probably even end up saving Murdoch money by consolidating the two publications.
|
Seriously. Or course he tolerates those actions. He just wants to cut loose of any responsibility when the s*** hits the fan.
I'm sure he'd rather put hundreds of working people who had no responsibility for what happened out of work before firing the exec who did. |
Reading the NY Times article made me sick to my stomach. Tampering with an investigation into a child's kidnapping????!!!!!!
Does anyone know if she could have been found alive if they hadn't done that? And then abetting murder suspects into spying on the detective investigating them and his family???? I wonder what they are likely to find if they start investigating Fox News in this country... |
This must have been going on for some time
|
And hacking into the voice-mails of families of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan....
And those of the victims of subway bombings... I wonder how people here would react if they found out one of News Corps' companies was hacking into our slain soldiers private accounts or into those of 9/11 victims, for instance. |
Wonder if he did it here in the US? |
Must be prevalent, and more common.
Apparantly it is called corporate espionage. |
Wasn't NOTW essentially the Sunday Sun? I suspect there'll be a Sunday Sun rolled out in 2012 when this has played out more (I assume it won't bring down Cameron or anything, it might if we start having more 1970s-style labour unrest.) |
I'm guessing all of the british tabloids did this kind of crap, but sure, pile on the evil wizard behind the Fox curtains. |
Should we give Ruppert a pass because you "guess" something? I "guess" that Obama is no worse than any other president. So, I don't expect to hear any criticism from you in the future. |
they will now investigate the others, and we will see. british tabloids are out of control. |
How about we pile on all of the people who have been caught red handed? Is that fair enough? OK then, there's Rupert Murdoch's empire and... ahem. We'll be happy to pile on the next one busted when they come around. |
Police investigating allegations of phone hacking have raided the offices of the Daily Star a police source has said. Investigations into hacking have so far centred on the News of the World newspaper. The Star is owned by businessman Richard Desmond and is not connected to News Corp, the owner of News of the World.

That's because they just busted the ex NOTW editor Clive Goodman, who now works there. They searched his office but I don't know if there is any evidence of wrongdoing at the Daily Star. |
