e-newsletter, updates for MoCo schools?

Hello. We'll be moving to Bethesda in August and my daughter will be starting kindergarden at Bethesda Elementary.
I can't figure out where to sign up for electronic updates (texts or e-mails) from the school or the County. I found a PDF of a newsletter, and the online calendar for the school, but is there a place to sign up to get updates re school closings, special announcements, etc.?
Also, if anyone reading this also has a child entering kindergarden at Bethesda Elementary, do feel free to e-mail me at wendytech at gmail.com--perhaps we could get our children together at a pool or playground. I e-mailed the person who was coordinating playdates for the school, but we're a little late to the party, so we probably missed them.
