| For those of us who haven't been paying attention, can you recommend a good (not too long) article that explains what happened from the beginning through the trial? |

There are going to be a lot of recap shows this week - Dateline/60 Minutes type news shows, CNN specials etc. Definitely worth watching an hour to get a recap.
But this is good - I recommend starting from June 2008 and reading from there: http://investigation.discovery.com/blogs/criminal-report/casey_anthony_full_coverage/timeline/caylee_anthony_timeline.html I think it's important people know what happened in this case. Law enforcement botched it in that someone reported a possible body or something suspicous and they didn't really follow up until months later, when the body was too decomposed. There was a lot of circumstantial evidence (Casey's internet searches from months before on missing children, neck breaking, and chloroform, that her mom tried to claim were hers but work records reported she was physically at work at that time), Casey partying and living a care free life for 31 days after her daughter died, Casey's incredible detailed lies about the nanny, her job that didn't exist, etc.) that I just can't believe the jury was able to let slide and not at least convict her of manslaughter. |
