This may be surprising to some but actually makes sense based on who I see get accepted.

None of these!
Feynman maybe? Or home school (I’m serious) you could do it better than those schools for 40k a year. I’m serious about none of these schools based on experience with two if them for a NT highly gifted child. Twice exceptional and Austin’s is a whole different thing and will not work well.

Autism, I’m sorry spellcheck changed that for me

not Sheridan if you want your child to get the best support they can get. They don't have staff for extra help.

The one in Bowie, not Georgetown. Avoid.

Yes Holy Trinity Bowie is horrible.

I'm reading this and know for fact this is not true. My daugther has ADHD and can't sit still to save anyones life and is doing excellent at school. What I have found that most parents who get their kids services or intervention and think the owness is on the school.

The school has changed vastly for what the previous posters have claimed. Weve been here since 2020 and all of leadership and changed since then. And I actually wasnt aware that we had famous people here? LOL They must be D list celebs then. The school is great. See for yourself

Check out The River School. There are a few kids with hearing loss in each class, integrated with hearing kids. The small class sizes with a teacher and SLP in each class might work well for your daughter. Worth giving them a call anyways. It goes up to 5th grade.

Thank you for pointing that out!

I know a kid at Sidwell with this profile. I also have 2 kids at Maret with mild ld and there are plenty of kids there with non typical learning profiles. Dysgraphia, ADHD, 2e (twice exceptional). Sheridan also has kids with learning differences.

Maybe it's too far (it's in Mclean VA), but what about The Langley School? They are such a nurturing and warm environment.

Disagree. They used to be but that has changed in recent years.

Well they posted that a few years ago so maybe it was accurate then.

4-year-old thread, folks.

Thanks for weighing in. Can you say anything more about why?

Because the Maret community does not want kids who diverge too far from the mean. Such children are either not admitted in the first place or live on the edge of being counseled out rather than supported. It’s not a good environment.

I would say this for all the Wisconsin ave schools. Want the appearance of being accommodating but at the end of the day they don’t want to invest in it and still want high flying kids that can do so mostly solo.

Not sure about Sheridan as the school is quite small and has previously counseled out kids with differences. But do ask the school.

I have two kids, both with ADHD. One is thriving at gds and the other attends a SN school -- he wouldn't be admitted to GDS and if somehow he was, he would not be successful. Two kids, same diagnosis, completely different needs. No one can make a recommendation based only on diagnosis.
