why does my ice taste so horrible?

| i just moved to a new apartment and my ice cubes taste god awful here at the new place. the fridge and feezer were spotless upon arrival, but not brand new. the freezer doesn't seem to smell of anything. but round after round of ice cubes come out tasting like poison. i put a box of baking soda in there. any ideas? |

| The filter on the ice maker needs to be changed. |

| Get some new trays and use filtered water. The box of baking soda and a good clean might also help. |

| high chlorine content in water? some water systems may still be flushing and they add chlorine to do so. A filter helps but with that much chlorine it may not |

| You could always add lemon/lime juice to the water, but that would limit what you could put the ice cubes in. |
