| Share your favorite vacation with your younger kids (like 2 and 4 or 3 and 5 etc). Can include flying and international. What made it great? TIA. |

| Caribbean. Either Puerto Rico (direct flight, lots of things to do: beach, old San Juan, Yunque) or St. Thomas/St. John (though harder to get to). |
| I've liked them all, as long as you have the right attitude. |
| Where is a good place to stay in Puerto Rico with young kids? I have a 6 month old. |
| Disney ages 3 and 5 during the off season when it is not super hot or crowded. It was magic for them. You can curbside check your luggage at the airport and Disney will take it all the way to your room for you, no standing in line waiting for baggage which was magic for us. |
| We always enjoy our trips to the Delaware beaches. Easy to drive, beach is fun for little kids, can get a condo/house so you can eat at home, keep regular schedule etc. |

Another vote for Disney at the offseason with a 3 yo and 5 yo. Best family vacation. We stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek - it was great to have a condo with kids that age. We could watch fireworks from our porch while the kids slept.
The whole trip was so magical. |
Silly question but what is considered off season? February? |
February if it's before President's Day! We went at the end of January and that was definitely off-season. Go to Disboards or read a Disney book and there will be a list saying which days are considered off-season, when it's "normal", when it's peak-season. |

I agree with the Disney suggestions, it's a great trip with young kids if you plan right and take your time and go for at least 6 or 7 days (that gives you plenty of time for parks, rest, shopping, pools) I think the best time of year that is considered to be off season is right between Halloween and Thanksgiving. It's still possible to swim, the prices are somewhat lower and there are less people. But keep in mind the parks are never empty and you should still go with a plan.

| Disney ... Ugh |
| What recommendations do people have other than Disney? |

what time of year?
The best vacations we've had with our child are ones that my parents have been with us. That allows us to do things DC doesn't want to do or can't do and DC gets to spend time with the doting grandparents. And no worries about strange babysitters you've never met and have no references for. * rented a cottage at a resort in Florida in April (but not Easter); good any age past 6 months * ski trips out west; better at 5 than at 3; * my parents' summer place on a lake in the midwest * our friends' house on the Eastern Shore I've wanted to try the Homestead but don't have enough vacation time to do everything. |
| Rome! It was amazing. DC was 17 months old and we rented an apartment. |
