I am looking for an OB (Holy Cross delivery) who does a sonogram no later than 8 weeks. Also, I work full time in the District so early morning appts or other non-working hour times would be a plus. Any input on appt. times and the wait? I did G'town last time and am not willing to sit for two hours waiting for every appointment again. Thanks! |
you might be able to get one at Planned Parenthood - they have a clinic in DC and one in Silver Spring. Also, if you can get a referral from your doctor, there are private radiology clinics that would do it. I've used Washington Radiology for both obstetric and pelvic ultrasounds and liked them a lot. Search for them on the web - they have 5 or 6 offices around the area. |
I believe that I had my first sono at 7 weeks all 3 times at Capital Women's Care on Lockwood Road. I don't think they will do it before 7 weeks. The technician is very nice and generally is on time. See archives for people's opinions about this practice in other matters. I have had a good experience so far (2 miscarriages, 26 weeks into this pregnancy). |
Capital Women's care (Berger-Weiss, Levitt, Travers (LOVE!!!!)) on Lockwood is the best!!!!!!!! (you just need to be able to drive to SS many times through the pregnancy) |
OBGYN associates are awesome (they are in Silver Spring and their offices are connected to HC hospital). I have two kids - 15 months and 9 weeks. They do MANY more sonos than most OB offices. My first sono (the second time) was actually at 7 weeks b/c I didn't know how far along I was!! We moved to VA in between the first and second (yes in that short time span) and I still will only ever use this office.
Delivered at HC - pretty good experience... of course depends alot on the nurses that are on duty. Recommended OB at OBGYN associates - DR. SUSAN NOVAK. She is a young doctor - extremely knowledgeable and really, really sweet. I love her. Their number is 703-681-6772. As a matter of fact, a good percentage (upwards of 70% - they have about 6 or so docs in the practice) of the OBs in this office were on the Washingtonian's top doc list. Dr. Novak wasn't on the list, however, after delivering with another OB in their office the first time around (that was on the list) - she is by far much better!!!! (much more personal). Anyway, I highly, highly recommend this office... best of luck to you!! |
