Anyone use a roaster oven for everyday cooking?

I'd still like to cook things in the oven but it's waaaaay too hot to turn it on right now. I have a roaster oven that I've only used a couple times on holidays for turkeys, hams, etc. and was thinking of using it as an outdoor oven on the deck or in the garage. Wondering how well it would work. Anyone try this?
