Holy Redeember in Kensington for non neighborhood students

Anonymous
We're considering Holy Redeemer, but we do not live in the southern part of Kensington (the more desirable part). We live in North Kensington. The Holy Redeemer site says that the school is mostly populated by neighborhood families who live within walking distance of the school.

Any experience with this school? Will we feel out of place or unwelcome because we aren't in walking distance?

We are not Holy Redeemer but another Catholic school with a similar population. I think the key when you are outside the immediate area is to recognize that the school is likely to become the hub of your child's activities. As long as you are okay to drive a bit more to sports, activities, playdates, scouts, etc. then all will be fine. I've been amazed by how much of the hub our school has become for us. But we really like it for that reason - a great sense of community. The kids living further out are no less a sense of that community, they just take longer to get there!
