Summer Crazies??

What has happened to my Kindergartner? He ended school last week and has just been acting out so much this week, it's bizarre! Is this a normal cycle of things that occurs after school lets out? I think it is because his schedule is off?

Apparently he caught the same bug my son has! Things here have been unpleasantly intense. I'm hoping they settle down once summer becomes their routine

Yes. The first week is really hard.

After 5 years of elementary school I have more or less begun to accept that the first 2 weeks after school ends can be almost "call the po-po, someone's gonna get kilt" around the house with my kids. You can try to skirt by it by sending them to camp right away but I did that one year and it just felt too hectic. I also have tried travel right away for vacation in a remote location and that is also unpleasant. I just try to shift them down gear in stages--They learn that hey, mom is not running a summer camp, we all need to go with the flow a little bit, etc. At some point, usually by week three, the little sonofabitches have to go to camp, though. One week on, one week off seems to work pretty well for us. Then its off north for sleep away camp for a couple weeks and then one family vacation for a week and then school comes back around too soon.
